23rd January 2026, Catholic Club, St. Patrick Church, Bangalore
The Catholic Club at St. Patrick Church marked the beginning of the New Year with a special faith initiative on 23rd January 2026, introducing the cause of beatification of the Servant of God Fr. Alfred Roche. The evening brought together Catholic Club members and other faithful who gathered to learn about this inspiring spiritual journey.

The event centered on the theme "Everything that's new… God leads the way." Fr. Santa Lopes opened the proceedings by reflecting on this theme and sharing Pope Leo's message for 2026, which emphasizes peace. He reminded those present that in today's troubled world, peace—not arms—is what humanity truly needs.
Fr. Alwyn Dias then offered a compelling presentation on the Servant of God Fr. Alfred Roche, tracing his life and spiritual legacy. He explained the inception of the beatification cause, outlined the processes and procedures currently underway, and illustrated how Fr. Alfred Roche's example offers a pathway to holiness for the faithful. His presentation shed light on why Fr. Roche is being considered for sainthood and what his life can teach us today.

The session concluded with the release and distribution of the 2026 calendars to all attendees, followed by a vote of thanks and a blessing.
The event left a profound impact on all present. Members expressed deep gratitude to the Capuchin Fathers for championing the cause of Fr. Alfred Roche and pledged their wholehearted support for this noble initiative moving forward.
