Sr Jacintha Fernandes, from Sister's of Charity, hailing from Nagarmutt, Barkur, daughter of late Lawrence and Veronica Fernandez Nagermutt ward, received the prestigious Florence Nightingale Award from the Government of Karnataka.
Born on 12/06/1958, she joined the convent in the year 1979.
She started serving in Fr Muller's Hospital after her final profession in 1986 and obtained her BSc Nursing in the year 1992 . She served in Zimbabwe from 1992 to 1999. Then she served in Ullal Hospital and currently serving at Snehalaya Hospital, Solur, Bangalore since 2004. She is known for her work among the poorest of poor people and recognized by the Government for her service.
She received this award on 12th December 2019 at Vikasa Soudha from the Health Minister in the presence of CM Yadiyurappa.
