In a display of devotion and community spirit, the Udupi District Sri Soma Kshatriya Ganiga Samaj (Registered) of Moodukeri Barkur is hosting a collective Satyanarayana Puja ceremony. The event, marking the culmination of a significant spiritual journey, commenced yesterday evening with the auspicious installation of the ceremonial kalasha, accompanied by melodious bhajans performed by the local devotional singing group.
The ceremony, held at the revered Sri Venugopalkrishna Temple in Moodukeri Barkur, has drawn participation from prominent community members and religious leaders. Among the distinguished attendees were Mr. and Mrs. Suryanarayana Ganiga from Matapadi, who serve as the President of the Udupi District Soma Kshatriya Ganiga Samaj. Other notable participants included Mr. and Mrs. Sundar Rao from Hunsur, Mr. and Mrs. Babu Ganiga from Tekkatte, and Mr. and Mrs. Jayanti B. Vasudeva from Baikadi, the immediate past president of the organization.
The event also saw the presence of Mr. Ganesh Master from Challi Makki, Mr. Gururaj Kemmannu, the treasurer of the Samaj, and Mr. Ramakrishna Ganiga from Haradi, who serves as the joint secretary. Adding to the spiritual ambiance, Mr. Raghavendra Rao from Maski Bailu Barkur, the Vice President of the Sri Dharmasthala Bhajana Parishat Brahmavara Division, graced the occasion with his presence.
The decorations for the puja mandap were expertly crafted by Sri Durgaparameswari Flower Decorators, led by Mr. Jayaram Ganiga from Kannukere Tekkatte, adding a visual splendor to the sacred proceedings.
This Satyanarayana Puja marks a significant milestone for the community, being the 48th consecutive full moon puja. The grand finale of this spiritual marathon is scheduled for today, July 21st, coinciding with the auspicious day of Guru Purnima. The day's events will commence at 9 AM with a bhajan program by the Annapoorneshwari Mahila Balaga, followed by the final Satyanarayana Puja performed by couples who have been part of this spiritual journey from the beginning.
