Barkur, - The National Industrial Training Institute (NITI) in Barkur was filled with joy and reverence as students, teachers, and the management gathered to celebrate 'Ayudha Pooja.' This auspicious occasion, celebrated during Navarathri, holds a special place at NITI, where the blessings of the Almighty are sought for protection and strength, especially in their unique educational environment.

NITI distinguishes itself from traditional courses by providing students with access to various types of machinery and equipment, both mechanical and electrical, computerized and manual. The students not only learn to operate these tools but also take every precaution to ensure safety. Nevertheless, in their day-to-day activities, they seek the divine hand of protection and safety, as Principal Venktesh Krimadhari explained in his address.

The 'Ayudha Pooja' at NITI is a grand affair, with students from various streams coming together to make arrangements at nine different locations across the campus. They install portraits of Goddess Saraswathi and Durga Mata in beautifully decorated pandals, adorned with attractive arches, balloons, lighting, and natural flowers.

Traditionally, during Ayudha Pooja, instruments and objects related to livelihood and profession are worshipped. Inside the vast college campus, the atmosphere becomes festive, with teachers and students performing the traditional 'Chande' and offering prayers at various stations. The creativity of the budding technicians and engineers is on full display with various models and prototypes showcased.
