Today, a ceremony was held to distribute prizes to the children who won the "Oratory Competition 2024" organised by Catholic Sabha, Barkur unit.
During the first Mass, the spiritual director of the unit and parish vicar, Fr. Ronald Miranda, distributed the prizes in the presence of Joseph Fernandes, the vice-president of the Parish Pastoral Council. The prizes included cash awards and mementos.
The event was organized under the guidance of Mr. Herald D'Souza, the designated president of the unit and coordinator of the oratory competition. Pius James D'Souza, the president of the unit, and Ripon D'Souza, the secretary, took responsibility for managing the event.
Mrs. Vera Monteiro, Mrs. Divya and Mr. Sujith Lewis sponsored the cash prizes and mementos for the oratory competition.
The ceremony celebrated the achievements of the young participants in the oratory competition, highlighting the importance of public speaking skills and Catholic education in the community. The presence of church leaders and community members underscored the significance of the event, encouraging the children in their spiritual and personal growth.
