Maryknoll School had a festive look today. Enthusiastic tiny tots and children gathered in the School campus to participate and exhibit their talents.
Correspondent of the School Rev Fr. Philip Neri Aranha hoisted the tricolour flag and in his meaningful message explained the day’s significance in simple words to reach effectively to the young minds.
In the beginning Mrs. Joyce Vandan DSa, Head Mistress of the School, cordially welcomed the guests, teachers and students and their parents and expressed her happiness to be at the helm of affairs in such a great Maryknoll School, which has a great history and legacy of 80 long years in Barkur, much before the nation got Independence i.e. in 1940. Since then this School has served the town regardless of caste, creed or religion gave responsible citizens to this country, she remembered.
Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr Joseph Fernandes, a proud alumnus of the School was the Chief Guest during the well arranged programme in the School premises.
It was a great and wonderful experience to watch almost all students involved and part of variety entertainments that followed in the School Open Grounds. All the teachers trained their respective students to partake in the events and showcase their talents.
To conclude the colourful event, Teacher Suma, proposed vote of thanks to express the gratitude’s to all who made the celebration meaningful and a great success.
All children and guests were served with sweets and snacks.
