Rice distributed to 550 families of Barkur

Nationwide lock down like never before  due to Covid 19 Pandemic has effected all the people and responding to the plight of the ordinary people of Barkur, Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B. Shantharam Shetty, Umesh Kundar, son of late Hoskere Laksmana Kundar and Barkur Agriculrural Co Operative Association (R) jointly distributed rice bags to 550 selected needy families of Kachur and Hosala Village under the jurisdiction of Barkur Panchayath.

In the first phase of this program, families of Kachur village collected their rice bags in the premises of Shri Panchalingeshwara Temple, Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B. Shantharam Shetty, President of Village Accountants Association Cheluvaraj, Athmaj Shetty, Umesh Kundar, Devdas Hoskere, Ravi Hemmadi, Ramachandra Kamath Barkur, Koosa Gurikara Hoskere, Ganesh Devadiga, Sathish Amin, Sadashiva Poojari Mooduhithlu, Sharanu Poojari Hosala, Shoukath Ali and Sathish Kotian were present during the distribution.

Speaking on the occassion, Ramachandra Kamath praised the intiatives by B.Shanatharam Shetty from the day one of the Lock down, and remembered his helping hands towards the Autorikshaw, Goods Rikshaw and Car Drivres and explained that its their motive to reach out to the maximum number of needy people of Barkur during this difficult time. He requested to make use of these facilities extended towards them and stay home safe keeping the socials distancing. He wished to drive out the Corona from the nation in the near future to bring  the smile on the face of all.
