Barkur, August 1, 2023: In a bid to promote community engagement and leadership among young students, the Rotary Club of Barkur proudly presided over the inauguration of the Interact Clubs at Sri Vidyesha Vidyaamanya English Medium School, Heradi, and Durga Parameshwari High School, Mandarti. The events, held on consecutive days, were marked by enthusiastic participation from students, inspiring speeches, and valuable lectures.

The inaugural ceremony at Sri Vidyesha Vidyaamanya English Medium School on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, witnessed a momentous occasion with the formation of the Interact Club. Rotary Club President, Rotarian Sithaam S., graced the event. Rtn Ganesh Acharya, presented the badge of honors to the school's Interact President. The ceremony commenced with heartfelt prayers offered by the students.
Young leaders from the school actively took part in the event. Sinchana from 9th grade delivered a warm welcome speech, setting the tone for the day. Khushi, also from the 9th grade, read out the minutes of the occasion, adding a professional touch to the proceedings. The previous Interact Office-bearers, Srushti and Dhanya from 10th grade, gracefully handed over their responsibilities to the newly appointed President, Anish, and Secretary, Andriya, both from the 9th grade.
The Rotary District Plan's lecture on "Effective Waste Management" was delivered by Rotarian A. Ratnakar Shetty, enlightening the young minds about environmental responsibility. The presence of the school's Principal, Mrs. Likhit Kothari, and Interact Teacher, Mrs. Sujata Rai, added a sense of encouragement to the newly elected office-bearers. The program was meticulously conducted by Vaishnavi from the student council.

On Monday, July 31, 2023, the Interact Club of Durga Parameshwari High School kickstarted its activities with an engaging inauguration ceremony. The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Rotary Club President, Rotarian Seethram S., who was honored by Rotarian Gangadhar Joshi, followed by a heartfelt prayer from the school children.
Mr. Sudhir Shetty, the Interact Coordinator and a faculty member, led the inauguration with a heartfelt speech, welcoming everyone with warmth and enthusiasm. The outgoing Rotary President, Abhijna, and Secretary, Dhanya, handed over their responsibilities to the new Interact President, Dhanya, and Secretary, Hrithvik, who shared their aspirations and plans for the club's future endeavors.
The ceremony was further enriched by the enlightening lecture on 'Value-based Education,' delivered by Sri Rama Bhat Sajangadd, a retired English professor and speaker. His words left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to strive for excellence.
Rotarian Kushal Pujari, an epitome of community service, organized a quiz competition for the students, recognizing their talents and efforts with well-deserved awards.
