Sahitya Prerane Inspires Young Minds at National Higher Primary School, Hanehalli

A meaningful and inspiring literary programme, 'Sahitya Prerane'  jointly organised by the Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Brahmavar Taluk Unit and National Higher Primary School, Hanehalli, was successfully held at 10.00 a.m. in the National Rotary Bhuvan, Barkur.

The programme, specially arranged for the students of Classes I to VII, aimed at introducing children to the greatness, rich heritage, development and literary excellence of the Kannada language through simple narratives and interactive sessions. The young students participated with great enthusiasm, attentively listening to the scholars and actively interacting throughout the programme.

The event commenced with a prayer song by the school children, invoking the blessings of Almighty God for the success of the programme.

Head Master Mr. Udaya Shetty extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, eminent literary personalities, resource persons, teachers and students. He emphasised the importance of nurturing love and respect for Kannada language and literature among the younger generation.

The inaugural function was graced by Chief Guest Mr Ratnakar Shetty retired DFO and Correspondent of National Heradi Primary School, Mr. Archibald Furtado, Admin Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, presided over the opening ceremony. Eminent Kannada Teacher of National High School Mr Maruti too was present and all profusely wished the participants of workshop all success.

The highlight of the programme was the inspiring presentations by the distinguished resource persons Sri Ramachandra Aithal, Gundmi, Sri Achyuta Poojary (Karkada), Sri Vishwanath Kharvi, Sri Narasimha Murthy, Sri Narasimha Tunga Kota and Smt Supriya Puranik - all well-known contributors to Kannada literature and culture. 

Through interesting stories, literary anecdotes and simple explanations, they enlightened the children on the origin, growth, beauty and enduring greatness of the Kannada language, encouraging them to cultivate reading habits and take pride in their linguistic heritage.

The programme was gracefully compered by Ms. Shailaja, while Ms. Navyalatha proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the organisers, guests, resource persons and all those who contributed to the success of the event.

The arrangements for the programme were efficiently coordinated by Ms. Suma and the dedicated members of the teaching staff, ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.

The 'Sahitya Prerane' programme concluded on a highly inspiring note, leaving the young participants with a deeper appreciation for Kannada language, literature and culture, while motivating them to preserve and promote the rich legacy of Kannada for future generations.
