The Annual Day Celebrations of SVVN English Medium High School, Heradi - Barkur, the grand finale was held on Saturday, 14th December 2024, was a grand spectacle filled with cultural vibrancy and heartfelt moments.
Cultural, folklore and traditional Extravaganza:
The second day’s events commenced with a colourful cultural feast from 3.45 PM to 5:00 PM, a rich composition of 8 different events, where the school's tiny tots KG to Class IV, mesmerized the audience with their performances. They showcased the rich heritage and diversity of the nation through a blend of dance, music, fusion acts, and short skits. The large crowd of parents, alumni, and the general public was captivated by the energy and creativity of the young performers.
Stage Program a celebration of togetherness:
The much-anticipated stage program began at 5:15 PM with a ceremonial prayer. The dignitaries, escorted by Principal Mrs. Likhita Kotary and Correspondent Mr. Rajaram Shetty, took their places on the dais. Mr. P. Archibald Furtado, Administrator Coordinator of the ‘National’ Group of Educational Institutions, extended a warm welcome to all the guests and attendees, with a brief background of SVVN’s humble beginning in 2005 and successful journey of two decades… The dignitaries were honoured with floral tributes with fresh roses, by Principal Mrs. Likhita Kotary.
Presidential Address and Annual Report:
The Vice President of BES, The Barkur Educational Society, Mr. Shedikodlu Vittal Shetty, presided over the captivating stage program and lauded the school for its remarkable achievements despite being in a rural setting. He appealed parents to support the educational Institutions managed by BES such as NJC for their PU Studies, which is at par with any reputed College in the vicinity with one of the best infra structure, learning atmosphere and teaching faculty…
Earlier the Annual Report presented by the Principal highlighted the institution's academic and extracurricular milestones in its 20th academic year, including:
• 100% results in SSLC exams.
• Participation in Hobali, Taluk, District, and State-level athletic, literary, and cultural competitions.
• Numerous student accolades for achievements in art, folklore, fine arts and extra-curricular fields.
• Additions by way of physical additions to infra structure and contributions by various donors, well wishers etc.
Insightful speeches and address to students and parents:
The Chief Guest of the function, Dr. Ramesh Shetty, an educationist and Promoter of Sujnan Educational Trust Kundapur, in his insightful address praised the school for its holistic approach to education and emphasized the importance of nurturing talent in rural areas. He had his best tips for teachers, students and Mgmt.
In a heart touching program, former Correspondent of SVVN Dr BM Somayaji was felicitated and honoured together with wife, with traditional shawl, fruit basket and garlanding with memento as a well worded citation read out by Mr Rajaram Shetty the incumbent correspondent of the SVVN.
Dr. B.M. Somayaji, also the former Secretary of BES and professor of Chemistry at Poorna Prajna College, Udupi, reminisced about the institution's growth and commended the efforts of the management and staff in achieving excellence.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of BES, delivered an insightful speech highlighting the importance of quality education in shaping future leaders and acknowledged the collective efforts of students, teachers, and parents in the school's success.
The achievers in various competitions were recognized and honoured with prizes, trophies, and certificates by the dignitaries on the dais, celebrating their outstanding efforts and talents.
The SSLC toppers of 2024 received special honours and felicitations, including cash prizes, in recognition of their exceptional academic achievements, inspiring the younger students to strive for excellence.
Special Recognition and heartfelt respects to all Teachers by SSLC Batch 2023-24:
One of the evening's most touching moments was the special recognition ceremony by Class X students, who honoured their teachers for their 10 or more years of dedication to the institution. This heartfelt gesture reflected the deep respect and gratitude students felt for their mentors. The emotional tribute brought joy to the teachers and left parents and spectators deeply moved. It was one of its unique as students draped shawls and handed over artistic mementos of Goddess Saraswathi.
School Office and Auxiliary staff, bus drivers and helpers too were honoured with special gifts and mementos on this milestone 20th year celebration.
The man behind this well deserved beautiful event the former President of PTA and Member of the BES Governing body Mr Raj Gopal Nambiar was recognised by the School Principal and Correspondent by draping a shawl and presenting a memento.
Mr. Srinivas Shettigar, proprietor of the renowned M/s Shettigar Industries, lauded the school for its dedication to quality education and its role in community development.
Mr. Praveen Acharya of Lalithya Constructions, a Class I PWD contractor from Ranganakere, a generous donor, encouraged students to aim high and praised the school for fostering a spirit of excellence.
In his brief deliberation, Treasurer of the BES Mr Krishna Hebbar reminded the parents their role and responsibilities
One more touching moment of the event was Ms. Ashwini S. Udupa, an alumna of SVVN and Test Lead at Tieto Evry India Pvt. Ltd., who expressed her gratitude to her Alma mater and wonderful teachers for shaping her solid foundation, recalling the role of SVVN both the exposures and support she received and inspired the students to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
Illustrious Kannada Teacher of SVVN, Mr Poornesh too was honoured for his special achievement in publishing two books, anthology of poems in Kannada thereby enriching its literature, with traditional shawl and memento.
Among others, PTA President Mr Jayaram Acharya, CRP of Barkur cluster Mrs Lalita, SPL of the School, Correspondents, Heads and teachers of National Group of educational Institutions, Members of Governing body, donors and well wishers were present in large number.
Vote of thanks:
To conclude the well set stage programme Mrs Aparna senior teacher proposed vote of thanks and recalled each and everyone’s cooperation and contribution for the resounding success of the 20TH SVVN Annual Feast. Teachers led by Mrs Bridget Gonsalves and team, Physical Director Mr Suresh Shetty and associates, the student leaders Prateek Shetty and others with the involvement and supervision of all teachers, meticulously presented the flawless six long hours of extravaganza to its perfection, deserve appreciation.
Variety entertainments:
The three hours of entertainment from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM showcased a captivating blend of cultural performances and rich traditional Indian and local folklore, including Bharatanatyam, songs and events picked from epics, Garabha, songs and music in various languages. The senior students' vibrant presentations provided a true feast for the record-breaking audience, leaving them thoroughly enthralled.
Conclusion:
The grand celebration was a testament to the school's commitment to fostering excellence in academics, sports, and cultural activities. The event concluded on a high note, leaving everyone present with cherished memories and a renewed sense of pride in the institution's accomplishments.
