Barkur, September 4, 2026:
A simple yet meaningful Teachers’ Day celebration was organised at Maryknoll School, Barkur, reflecting the love, respect and gratitude of students towards their teachers.
Teachers’ Day, celebrated across the nation in honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the renowned teacher, philosopher and former President of India, is a cherished occasion to remember the noble contribution of teachers in shaping young minds and building the nation.

The celebration was led by the enthusiastic students of Class VII, who organised a variety of colourful events and enjoyable games for the teachers and students. The programme created a lively and cheerful atmosphere, while also highlighting the special bond between teachers and their students.
As a beautiful token of appreciation and affection, roses were presented to all the teachers, conveying a simple but heartfelt message of gratitude for their dedication, patience and guidance.

Headmistress Mrs. Vandana D’Sa was visibly overwhelmed and delighted by the thoughtful initiative of the students. She expressed her heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the organisers for making the occasion special and memorable.
Adding further warmth to the celebration, the Headmistress distributed sweets to all and gifts to the teachers as a gesture of appreciation for their valuable service and commitment.

The celebration, though simple in nature, carried a profound message: teachers may teach lessons from books, but their greatest lessons are often taught through their lives, values and example.
The day concluded with smiles, gratitude and renewed appreciation for the teachers who continue to inspire, guide and nurture the young generation.
