Founder President of Barkur Mogaveera Women's Association, Girija V. Kanchan, Passed Away

Barkur, : Mrs. Girija V. Kanchan, aged 76, a resident of Hosala in Barkur, has tragically passed away today, September 29, due to a sudden cardiac event, just three days after being admitted to Manipal Hospital for respiratory distress.


She leaves behind her grieving husband and a daughter. Mrs. Kanchan had a large circle of extended family and friends who are deeply mourning her loss. She was the founder and president of the Barkur Mogaveera Women's Association, an organization she dedicatedly led for a remarkable eight years.

Known for her unwavering dedication, Mrs. Kanchan actively participated in various women's welfare activities, including charity work, temple festivals, and cultural events. She played a vital role in organizing and overseeing the festivities of numerous local temples, such as Benne Kuduru, Uchchila Mahalakshmi, and Bagwadi.

Mrs. Kanchan's leadership and commitment to her community were evident as she tirelessly worked to empower women through the Barkur Mogaveera Women's Association. Her leadership was instrumental in successfully executing numerous projects and initiatives aimed at the welfare of women in the region.

Even in her advanced age, she continued to be a guiding light for the organization, contributing her time and resources generously. Her untimely demise is a significant loss to the Barkur Mogaveera Women's Association, leaving a void that will be hard to fill.

The entire community of Barkur and its surrounding regions deeply mourns the loss of this remarkable leader, who dedicated her life to the betterment of women's lives and community welfare.
