The St. Peter’s Parish in Barkur celebrated the annual feast of the beloved St. Padre Pio with great devotion and joy today. The celebration commenced with the novena led by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda, setting a spiritual tone for the day’s events.
Following the novena, a solemn festive Mass was offered by Rev. Fr. Steven Fernandes, the Director of the Youth Commission of the Udupi Diocese. He was joined by the parish vicar, Fr. Ronald Miranda, in concelebration. Fr. Steven delivered an inspiring homily that deeply resonated with the congregation, leaving them spiritually enriched. The congregation participated wholeheartedly in the Mass, with the choir beautifully enhancing the sacred atmosphere.
The parishioners worked together to ensure a smooth and meaningful celebration. The offertory procession and other ceremonial duties during the Mass were performed with great reverence and devotion, involving various members of the parish community.
At the end of the feast, special recognition was given to prominent sponsors— Jovita, Sydney Lewis, and their family from Hosala-Sebastian Ward—who were honored for their dedication and contributions to the parish. They were presented with a token of appreciation as a gesture of respect.
The feast of St. Padre Pio, marked by fervent prayers, communal spirit, and a sense of unity, concluded with the faithful feeling blessed and spiritually renewed.
