(Saturday, 28/12/24) St. Peter's Church in Barkur celebrated the Feast of the Holy Innocents with great devotion. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Parish Priest Fr. Ronald Miranda and Fr. Tony Andrade. A large number of children were present for today's Eucharistic celebration.
Following the Mass, both priests offered special prayers for all the young children. They invoked God's chosen blessings upon the children and prayed for their bright future. The ceremony was particularly meaningful as it commemorates the feast that remembers the innocent children who were martyred during King Herod's time.
The celebration highlighted the church's special attention to the welfare and spiritual growth of its youngest members. The presence of numerous children added a touching dimension to the sacred occasion, making it a memorable celebration for the parish community.
The priests emphasized the importance of protecting and nurturing children, drawing parallels between the historical significance of the feast and the contemporary need to safeguard the innocence and well-being of young ones. The special blessing ceremony served as a reminder of the church's commitment to the spiritual development of its younger generation.
