Mr. Pius James D'Souza from Barkur has been unanimously elected as the President of Karaval Milan for the term 2016-2018. He succeeds the outgoing president Naveen D'Souza from Kolalgiri.
Pius James D'Souza who was serving as the PRO in the committee, has been an active member of the association. Well known for his contribution towards Konkani literature as a renowned Poet, Pius James is an active member of Daiji Dubai as well. His popular poetic work is his poetry anthology 'Nimani Sairik'. It was released in the year 2008, published by 'Kavita Publications'. He writes under Pen Name ‘PJ Karugalnade’. He is also a good performing artist. He has proved his acting skills in some of the popular dramas staged in his hometown Barkur and in UAE.
Pius James' wife Mrs Alice D'Souza is rendering her services as a Teacher in Maryknoll Higher Primary School Barkur. His sons, Alston D'Souza, is persuing his B.E in St Joseph's Engineering College Mangalore, and Preston, is a student at Little Rock School Brhamavar.
Karaval Milan is an association of various parishioners of Udupi diocese residing in UAE, which is well-known for its cultural, sports and charity activities. The association is celebrating 16 years of successful existence.
