Presentation of Jubilee Report, Accounts and Felicitation to the Editorial Team of Centenary Souvenir

Smt. Rukmini Shedthi National Higher Primary School, Heradi–Barkur.

Smt. Rukmini Shedthi National Higher Primary School, Heradi–Barkur, which recently celebrated its Centenary (1925–2025) on a grand scale in December 2025, continues to cherish the glorious milestone with several meaningful initiatives. One of the most memorable outcomes of the centenary celebrations is the commemorative souvenir titled “Shatamanada Gari” (1925–2025).

Although the souvenir was formally released on Saturday, 27th December 2025 in the august presence of distinguished guests, the final enriched version, containing rare and attractive photographs, historical articles, write-ups and reports, is now ready for publication.

To appreciate the dedicated efforts behind this valuable publication, a special thanksgiving and felicitation programme was organized on Saturday, 14th March 2026 at 10.15 a.m. in the School Auditorium.  Mr Sankadi Karunakar Shetty chairman of the Heradi RSMHP School Centenary Celebration Committee extended a warm and cordial welcome to all present and gave credit to all who served with one direction and unity....

Secretary of the CCC, Mr Prakash Tantri gave a crispy report of the Celebrations which was a result of collective efforts and collaboration of all stakeholders and have the contentment of fulfilling the aspirations of all concerned.

Head master of the School and Treasurer Mr Ratnakar Shetty presented Jubilee Accounts and announced a savings of Rs 13 lakhs now earmarked for the welfare of the School and profusely thanked all donors and well-wishers.

The programme was arranged to express the heartfelt gratitude of the Management and stakeholders to the editorial team led by Mrs. Chandrika R. Bairy, a talented teacher currently serving at Government Primary School, Hollebagilu, Machhattu Village (Amasebail Cluster).

The stage programme was presided over by Mr. A. Ratnakar Shetty KFS, the resourceful and dynamic Correspondent of the School, who released the Souvenir along with guests on stage. In his presidential address, he expressed deep appreciation to the President of the Centenary Celebration Committee, Mr. Sankadi Karunakar Shetty, and his entire team for their tireless commitment. He also acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Editor Mrs. Chandrika R. Bairy and her team, HM Mr. H. Ratnakar Shetty, all past and present teaching staff, Mr. Prakash Tantri, President of the 'Old Students’ Association', office bearers, Atula Youth Club and members, parents, students, generous donors and well-wishers. Their collective support and sacrifice, he noted, ensured the remarkable success of the centenary celebrations – a proud milestone in the history of the institution.

Co-editor and retired Headmaster Mr. Babu Naik, an alumnus of the school, as Emcee of the event, acknowledged the contribution of everyone involved in compiling the souvenir. He observed that the book would remain a precious relic to be preserved for generations, reflecting the rich legacy of the institution.

Prof. P. Archibald Furtado, Administrative Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, presented a brief evaluation of the souvenir’s rich historical content. He expressed his “pleasant surprise” that such a laborious and comprehensive work was completed within a record two months. He particularly appreciated the creative cover design, the meaningful title “Shatamanada Gari”, the well-documented school history, innovative articles and experiences, and the systematic arrangement of photo collages and reports. The 20-colour, 62-BW, totalling 82 page publication, he noted, stands as a remarkable documentation of the school’s journey.

Prof. Furtado also highlighted the in-depth articles by alumni, emotional reflections of past students, and the charming short stories and drawings by young children, all of which add life and warmth to the souvenir.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kamakeshwar Poojary High Court Advocate, a proud alumnus nostalgically recalled his memories of the campus nearly 50 years ago, sharing touching recollections of his student days and the school’s humble beginnings. He had practical suggestions for the continuation of Kannada Medium Schools which received thunderous applause from the parents.

 Nr Prakash Shetty, former President of Yedthadi Panchayat distributted special scholership to deserving students and lauded the unparalleled involvement of the past students and the strong support of the 'Barkur Educational Society' Management, which together helped achieve something truly extraordinary. He appealed to all stakeholders to continue their cooperation to ensure the school’s sustained growth, continuity and commitment to quality education.

Among others who shared their thoughts were President of Atula Youth Club, Heradi, Mr Mohan Poojary, Mr K Srinivas Udupa and others assured their continued support.

Treasurer of the Barkur Educational Society Mr A Krishna Hebbar shared his happiness and assured all support from the Management and requested parents to help School to increase enrollment 

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Correspondent Mr. A  Ratnakar Shetty, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, teachers, alumni, students and well-wishers for taking time to participate in the meaningful gathering and for their continued support to the institution.

The event stood as a fitting tribute to the dedicated editorial team whose efforts have beautifully preserved the hundred-year legacy of Smt. Rukmini Shedthi National Higher Primary School for present and future generations.
