On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM, a significant blood donation camp took place at Smt. Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Government First Grade College, Barkur. The event, organized jointly by the Youth Red Cross division, NSS division, Rotary Club Barkur, and IRCS Kundapura and Blood Bank Kundapura, witnessed a large turnout of donors.
The inauguration of the camp was graced by Mr. Jayakar Shetty, the Chief Executive Officer of Blood Bank Kundapura. The ceremony presided over by Mr. Ramesh Acharya, the Principal of the college. Notable guests included Mr. Sitaram S, President of the Rotary Club, and Mr. K. Babu Naik, the Coordinator of Youth Red Cross, along with Ms. Shobha A.R., the coordinator of NSS.
Eminent speakers such as Vidya, Gangadharayya, and Sudheep were present to encourage and motivate the donors. Over 70 individuals registered their names for blood donation, surpassing the anticipated turnout.
The event not only served as an opportunity for the community to come together but also emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. The organizers expressed gratitude to all participants for their invaluable contribution to this noble cause.
