Senior Community Leader and Activist Kasim Saheb Barkur Passed Away in Udupi

In a saddening turn of events, Udupi's prominent figure and senior community leader, Kasim Saheb Barkur, breathed his last on February 15th at a private hospital in Udupi due to a brief illness. Aged 70, Kasim Saheb had been actively involved in various social and community welfare activities throughout his life.

Hailing from Udupi, Kasim Saheb Barkur had been a pivotal figure in the district's Muslim community, serving as the District President of the Muslim Okkoota, and also holding key positions in the Jamiatul Falah organization's Udupi chapter. Additionally, he served as the chairman of the Malik Deenar Juma Masjid in Barakur and had been actively involved in the administration of various minority welfare initiatives in the district.


Kasim Saheb's contributions extended beyond religious and community realms. He had also served as the District Coordinator for Minority Welfare and held several other administrative positions in various organizations dedicated to social upliftment. His demise is mourned not only by his family but also by a vast network of friends and well-wishers whom he had touched with his selfless service and dedication.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, and a large extended family and network of friends. The void left by his passing will be deeply felt by the community, as Kasim Saheb  Barakur's legacy of compassion, leadership, and service continues to inspire those who knew him.
