The event marked the coming together of two significant Sharadotsava celebrations in the region. The first was the 43rd annual Public Sharadotsava, organized by the Public Sharadotsava Committee under the auspices of the Sri Panchalingeswara Temple in Kotekeri, Barkur. The second was the sophomore year of the Public Sri Sharadotsava, held at the Sri Durgamba Gadduge Amma Temple in Ranganakeri Ujre Bailu, sponsored by the Sri Durgamba Friends group.
