Shivagiri, Barkur: In a heartwarming celebration of Raksha Bandhan, SVVN English Medium School and Shri Narayanaguru Seva Sangama Shishu Mandira came together to commemorate the special bond between brothers and sisters. The joint event took place amidst joy and festivity, uniting the young students of both the institutions.

Raksha Bandhan, a cultural festival traditionally observed during the month of Sawan or August, serves as a sacred occasion to honor the unbreakable connection shared between siblings. Sisters, on this day, symbolize their affection by tying rakhi threads onto their brothers' wrists.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the President of the function and the Headmistress of the school Mrs. Likitha Kothari and Mrs. Karishma Shetty. Honorary advisor of Shishu Mandira, Mr. Sudhakar Rao, Mrs. Jahanvi Poojary, President of Shishu Mandira, Mr. Subramanya Poojary, former President of Shishu Mandira and other committee members graced the occassion.

The event commenced with soulful renditions of the prayer song by the UKG students. As Mr. Nagendra Achar extended a warm welcome to the assembled guests, Mrs. Sujatha Rai delivered an introductory speech that set the tone for the celebrations. Mr. Sudhakar Rao shared his insightful perspectives on the significance of Raksha Bandhan.

Reflecting gratitude, Mrs. Shubha Rao extended the vote of thanks to all attendees for joining in the festivities. The proceedings of the event were deftly conducted by Mr. Poornesh.

One of the highlights of the event was the heart-touching moment when the young participants from both the institutions exchanged rakhi tokens, symbolizing the bond that brothers and sisters share. The event served as a reminder of the values of love, protection, and care that are integral to sibling relationships.
