Tailors' Day Celebrated in Barkur

The Barkur unit of the Karnataka State Tailors' Association (R) celebrated Tailors' Day on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Kalyanamantapa of Sri Patttabhiramachandra Mandir in Barkur.

The program was presided over by Smt. Gauri V. Poojary, President of the Barkur Zone Committee. The inauguration was done by Shri K. Ramachandra, State Treasurer, State Committee, Mangalore.

The chief guests were Shri Dayananda Kotyan, Secretary, District Committee, Udupi; Shri Naveen Rao, President, Brahmavar Zone Committee; Shri Ganesh B. Shetty, Proprietor of Swadeshi Ayurveda, Barkur; and Shri Govinda Nayak of Super Tailor.

The following were also present: Shri Subrahmanya Acharya, Vice President; office bearers Shri Srinivasa Bhat, Bhaskar Acharya, Vasantha, Alexander, Sumathi, Kalpana, Revathi, Sumangala; and members of the zone.

Smt. Jahnavi offered prayers.

The welcome address was delivered by Shri Subrahmanya Acharya, Secretary of the Barkur Zone Committee.

Senior Tailors of Barkur, Shri Chandra Kundar Barkur, Smt. Nirmala Dayananda Barkur, Shri Manjunatha Poojary Nagaramatha, and Shri Shekhar Suvarna Bennekudru were felicitated in the presence of the dignitaries.

Various games and sports competitions were organized for all the members of the zone and their children, and prizes were distributed.

Lucky winners were selected and prizes were distributed.

Shri B. Sudhakar Rao, retired headmaster of Barkur, compered the program.

Smt. Vandana Raghavendra proposed the vote of thanks.

Karnataka State Tailors' Association (R)

The Karnataka State Tailors' Association (R) is a registered organization of tailors in the state of Karnataka, India. The association was founded in 1950 with the aim of promoting the welfare of tailors in the state. The association has a membership of over 10,000 tailors across the state.

The association organizes various programs and activities for the benefit of its members, including training programs, awareness camps, and health camps. The association also provides financial assistance to needy members.

The association is affiliated to the All India Tailors' Association (R), the national apex body of tailors in India.
