Vana Mahothsava by Rotary Club

Rotary Club organised a magnificent celebration of the Vana Mahotsav, the Festival of Forests, at the divine abode of Koodli Sri Durgamba Temple. The event was flagged off by progressive organic agriculturalist Mr. Gopal K. Nayak, Alevooru Kodi by planting a tree sapling. Rotary Club planted approximately 25 tree saplings and distributed 100 saplings to commemorate the occasion.

Following this, a significant information workshop on "Conservation of Soil Fertility" was conducted at Rotary Club, Barkur, in collaboration with the Forest Department, Udupi, Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Grama Abhivruddhi Yojane, and B.C. Trust (R), under the patronage of Sri Durgamba Trust (R), Koodli Sri Durgamba Temple.

The program was presided over by Rotarian S. Seetharam, President of the Rotary Club Barkur. Rotarian  B. Srinivas Shettigar, an honored advisor of Sri Durgamba Trust, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

Renowned Organic Agriculturist and progressive farmer from Alevooru Kodi, Gopal K. Nayak, provided insights into the conservation of soil fertility and sustainable agriculture during the program. Dignitaries present at the event included top officials from the Forest Department, Brahmavara Division,  Harish from Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Grama Abhivruddhi Yojane, Ramesh P.K., the designated authority of D.C. Trust (R), Brahmavara Division, Rotary Zonal Coordinater, Rotarian Alwyn Andrade, and Rotarian Anand Shetty, Director of the Rotary District Committee (3182).

Welcoming the esteemed guests,  Ravindra, the Supervisor in charge of the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Grama Abhivruddhi Yojane, offered floral tributes. Rotarian Sudhakar Rao also extended his warm greetings to all the dignitaries present. The Marathi Youth Organization of Koodli was represented by its President, Uday Nayak, and the President of Koodli Sri Durgamba Mahila Bhajana Mandali, Mrs. Sharada V. Nayak.  Akshay Kumar, President of Durgamba Friends, and  Manjunath, President of the Shourya Vipattu Tanda (Disaster Management Team) Barkur Division, also attended the event.

The distinguished gathering witnessed the felicitation of  Gopal K. Nayak, who has been instrumental in the conservation of soil fertility and sustainable agriculture. The event concluded with the insightful program led by Rotarian Manju C. Poojari, Chairman of the District Committee, Rotary International.Rotarian Babu Nayak, Program Director of the Rotary Club, coordinated the event and presented a vote of thanks.

The Rotary Club's Vana Mahotsav at Koodli Sri Durgamba Temple was a grand success, leaving a lasting impact on the community. The event not only celebrated the cultural heritage but also raised awareness about the importance of soil conservation and sustainable agricultural practices among the participants.
