Moodahadu Kudru – is a hamlet between Barkur and Sasthan. The  picturesque road connecting Sasthan and Barkur winds through this island. Commuters passing through this road were throwing litter, which was resulting as health hazard and also harmful for environment. To solve this problem “Moodahadu Kudru Residents’ association” organized a “Cleanliness drive” on May 10th and 11th . Approximately 30 people from the village participated in this drive while maintaining social distance norms. As a result of the drive, lead by the President Shankara Bangera,  approximately 300 empty bottles and approximately 25 gunny bags full of trash was collected and disposed. Office bearers Fredrick D’Souza, Priya Poojary, Richard D’Souza were present. Executive committee members Praveen Dsouza, Meena Roche, Stephan Lewis and Celine Martis supported. By carrying out this drive during this COVID-19 lock down time, the island dwellers have made good use of the time and sent across a good message about social responsibility.
