Shri Chooda Poojari
We are happy to introduce a great personality of Barkur, Sri B. Chooda Poojary, known to all as Chooda Master.
Sri Chooda Master born on 1st June, 1944. He was the 3rd son of Late Sri Rama Poojary and Late Mairy Poojarthy. After completion of his basic education in teaching, he joined Maryknoll Higher Primary School on 11th November 1963. He used to teach Mathematics, Social Science and Kannada to the students and was involved in all cultural and sports activities of the school. In his leadership the school sports team got many awards in Hobli level as well as in Taluk level.
He was a great leader and saw that many of his students becoming leaders in various capacities not only in India but also in many parts of the world. He loved his students and helped them to become successful in the examinations and this made him a successful teacher not only in Maryknoll School but also in this locality. Today every where he is recognised as "amcha mogacho chooda mastar".
He married to Ms Lalitha in the year 1967 and blessed with four children, Sridhar, Ashok, Ajith and Indira.
During his 37 years of services as teacher he earned name, fame and love from all. Today we see even elderly people saying "namaskara mastre" in the streets whenever they meet him. He is a progressive agriculturist. He associated himself in all types of developmental activities and used to attend all meetings and gatherings.
Yes, today on the eve of his retirement from the services the Maryknoll Higher Primary School is losing a great leader. The management of the school along with Parent Teachers Association, Old Students Association and the betterment committee is planning to have a public function in his honour on Sunday, the 14th April 2002. The local M.L.A. Mr Jayaprakash Hegde has kindly consented to honour Sri Chooda Poojary on behalf of the local community, and many local leaders along with dignitories from the education department will attend the function.
We wish Sri B. Chooda Poojary a peaceful retired life. May God Bless him and his family members keep him happy through out his retired life.
