BARKUR - Shri Vidhyesha Vidyamanya National English Medium School (SVVN) marked a significant milestone in its academic calendar with a highly productive Parents and Teachers Meeting held on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The event, which took place in two well-attended sessions at the school's Annapurna Hall, not only facilitated crucial interactions between educators and parents but also saw the election of new Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) leadership.

The day's proceedings were meticulously organized into two sessions to accommodate the large number of attendees. The first session, catering to parents of students from Classes I to VI, commenced at 9:45 AM and saw an impressive turnout of approximately 200 parents, filling the hall to capacity. This was followed by an equally successful second session at 11:00 AM, which was attended by close to 150 parents, demonstrating the strong parental engagement with the school's educational mission.

A highlight of the event was the election of new PTA members for each class and the appointment of a new PTA President. In a touching moment that symbolized the continuity of leadership and the spirit of cooperation, the outgoing PTA President, Mr. Nambiar, welcomed his successor, Mr. Acharya, with the presentation of a rose. This gesture was met with warm applause from the assembled parents and staff, underscoring the community's appreciation for the dedication of its volunteer leaders.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Rajaram Shetty, the esteemed Correspondent of SVVN, who provided valuable insights into the school's vision and upcoming initiatives. His presence emphasized the management's commitment to fostering strong partnerships between the school and parents.

The event was further distinguished by the attendance of key figures from the Barkur Educational Society, under whose aegis SVVN operates. Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of the Barkur Educational Society, delivered an inspiring address that highlighted the Society's ongoing efforts to enhance educational standards across its institutions. Mr. Archibald Furtado, the Administrative Coordinator, shared important updates on administrative matters and future plans. Adding to the day's significance, Mr. Kamath, Correspondent of the National ITI, also graced the occasion with his presence and words of wisdom, providing a broader perspective on educational and vocational training opportunities available to students.

SVVN's Principal, Mrs. Likhita Kotary, along with her dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff, received high praise for their meticulous organization of the event. Their efforts ensured a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that encouraged open dialogue between parents and teachers. This environment proved invaluable as parents shared their thoughts, concerns, and feedback on various aspects of their children's education.

A key focus of the meeting was the review of the recently concluded FA I Class Test results. Parents had the opportunity to discuss their children's performance with teachers, gaining insights into areas of strength and those needing improvement. This personalized interaction was widely appreciated by the parents, many of whom expressed their gratitude for the school's transparent and collaborative approach to student assessment.

Throughout the sessions, various topics were discussed, ranging from curriculum updates and extracurricular activities to new teaching methodologies being implemented at SVVN. The school management also took the opportunity to outline their plans for the upcoming academic year, including proposed enhancements to facilities and the introduction of new educational programs.

As the meeting concluded, there was a palpable sense of satisfaction among both parents and educators. Many parents expressed their appreciation for the school's efforts in organizing such a comprehensive and informative event. The newly elected PTA members, led by President Mr. Acharya, pledged to work closely with the school administration to further strengthen the educational experience for all students.

This successful Parents and Teachers Meeting at SVVN not only served its immediate purpose of facilitating communication between the school and parents but also reinforced the institution's commitment to collaborative and holistic education. As the new academic term progresses, the spirit of partnership and shared responsibility fostered at this meeting is expected to contribute significantly to the students' academic and personal growth.

The event stands as a testament to SVVN's dedication to maintaining open lines of communication with parents and its recognition of the crucial role that parental involvement plays in a child's education.
