The Annual Sports Day of SVVN English Medium High School, Heradi Barkur, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Friday, 6th December 2024. The event commenced on a bright and pleasant morning at 9:00 am with students from Classes V to X assembling on the well-set playground. The event began with an impressive march past performed by students in groups and squads, showcasing discipline and team spirit.
Mr. P. Archibald Furtado, Administrative Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, was given the honor of receiving the guard of honor during the parade. Following this, the High School Flag was hoisted by Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of the Barkur Educational Society.
The stage program commenced with a prayer hymn, creating a solemn and welcoming atmosphere. The Principal, Mrs. Likhita Kotary, extended a cordial and homely welcome to all the guests and participants. The Physical Education teacher, Mr. Suresh Shetty, honored the guests with fresh roses.
The Vice President of the Barkur Educational Society (BES), Mr. Shedikodlu Vittal Shetty, officially declared the Sports Meet open by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his presidential address, he motivated students to seize the opportunities provided by the institution.
Mr. Archibald Furtado, in his address, expressed his joy at being part of the inaugural ceremony and commended the efforts of the Physical Education teachers, Mr. Suresh Shetty and Mrs. Jyothi, for their dedication and support. The Correspondent, Mr. Rajaram Shetty, conveyed his best wishes to the participants and emphasized the importance of physical activities for a healthy mind and body.
The Treasurer of BES, Mr. Krishna Hebbar, shared nostalgic memories of his student days and highlighted the role of fitness in achieving success in life.
The highlight of the event was the Sports Secretary administering the oath of sportsmanship and obedience on behalf of all participants. Prizes were distributed to the winning squads of the march past, recognizing their efforts and discipline.
The stage program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Physical Education teacher Mrs. Jyothi. The entire event was meticulously coordinated and presented by senior teachers Mrs. Bridget Gonsalves and others, ensuring its success.
