As we keep reporting generous people reaching out to help the needy people during their plight due to Corona Lock down, its heartening to see more individuals as well as organizations extending their help hand to the poor.
There are 123 laborers from Uttara Kannada district who were stranded due to the closure of Udupi District borders were temporarily accommodated at the Smt Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Government First Grade college by DC Jagadeesh and Brahmavar Tahisildar Kiran Gourayya.
Office bearers of Vijaya Bank Retired Officers Welfare and Social Center lead by U.K. Vasudeva Shetty arrived to Barkur and handed over a cheque for Rs.30000 for the expenses of the breakfast of these needy people for 10 days. The cheque was handed over to Sathish Amin, Secretary of Rotary Club, Barkur through Tahasildar Kiran Gourayya. Rotary Club, Barkur members distributed Bathing Soaps, Clothes, Tooth Pastes and Brushes to the laborers and Biscuits and Cholcolates to their small children. Tahasildar Kiran Gourayya, Village Accountatnt Cheluvaraj, Bhimaraj, B.Girish, Vijayakumar Sharath Shetty, President of Office bearers of Vijaya Bank Retired Officers Welfare and Social Center, U.K. Vasudeva Shetty, Secretary Jayaram Hegde, Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B.Shantharam Shetty, Devadas Hoskere, President of Rotary Club Barkur, B.Sudhakar Rao, Secretary of Rotary Club Barkur and Presdient of Barkur-Bennekudru Mogaveera Sanyuktha Sabha, Sathish S.Amin, Sudarshan Udupa, Koodli, Bhaskar Poojari, Admin of Nammuru Barkuru Facebook Group, Anand Kumar Barkur were present at the simple function organized, duly maintaining the socials distancing.
Speaking at the occasion, all the leaders requested the campers to maintain cleanliness and hygiene and stressed on the importance of social distancing.
Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B.Shantharam Shetty who has shouldered the responsibility of providing the breakfast to the campers from day one, thanked all the generous people and associations helping in this noble cause.
