Rotary Club Barkur, Smt. Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Government First Grade College Barkur, and the Shourya Disaster Management Unit of Barkur jointly organized a cleanliness and awareness program on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti this morning at the premises of the Barkur Railway Station. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Ramesh Acharya, Deputy Principal of Government First Grade College, Barkur, and featured a keynote address by Mr. Sudhakar Rao. Mr. Seetharam S., President, expressed his gratitude, and Mr. K. Babu Nayak offered his heartfelt thanks.
Furthermore, a stretch of grassland adjacent to the main road leading to the railway station was cleared of overgrowth, and efforts were made to clean up plastic waste. The potholes on the road were also filled.
This initiative aims to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness in the Barkur region, and it serves as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
