The 13th Childrens Literary Convention was ingaurated at Sawmi Vivekananda Sahithya Vedike at Smt.Rukmini Shedthi Memorial National Government First Grade College Barkur
The 13th Makkala Sahithya Sammelana was inaugurated at the beautifully decorated Sawmi Vivekananda Sahithya Vedike by Boluvaru Mohhamed Kunhi , Central Sahithya Academy Award winning litterateur from Banaglore . The inauguration ceremony of the most waited and definitely one of the best annual event of Barkur, jointly organised by Svami Vivekananda Samskrithika Kendra, www.barkuronline.com, Shanthivana Trust, Dharmasthala, Branches of Ramakrishna Ashram and Shrimathi Rukmini Shedthi Memorial National First Grade College was presided over by Karthik Shetty, a student 8th Standard at Government Higher Primary School, Yadadi, Mathyadi Kundapur. Kumari Mahalakshmi Mayya, President, Makkala Dhwani, 2012, student of 10th standard at Alwa’s Kannada Medium Hign School, Moodabidire, B.Shantharama Shetty, President, Barkuru Vidybhivardhini Sangha, B.Bhjanaga Shetty, Former President, Udupi Jilla Panchayath, Mallika B.Poojari, Memmebr Jilla Panchayath, and Nagesh Shanbhag, Zonal Educational Officer, Brahmavara Zone were the other dignitaries present on the stage.
Shashikanth Jain welcomed the gathering Boluvaru Mohhamed Kunhi inaugurated the convention by lighting the lamps along with other dignitaries and delivered the inaugural address. A collection of poems written by the participant students was released at the occassion. Karthik Shetty as the President of the convention delivered the Presidential address and proved that he was the right choice for the post by his oratory skills.
Kumari Mahalakshmi Mayya, President, Makkala Dhwani, 2012, addressed the participants and congratulated the organisers for organising such a meaningful and useful program for the overall development of high school students and also praised them for their consistency over the years. Shrikanth, Suvratha Adiga, Prithvi R. and Karishma were felicitated for their achievements in high jump, literature, Volleyball National level and shot-put state level.
As the unique tradition of the Makkala Sahithya Sammelana and the apt tagline “Samaya Prajne Namma Aadarsha”, the inaugural programme started on dot at at 11.15 and ended at 12.45 p.m. Students of the host school, National High School, presented prayer dance and a tableau in honour of Swami Vivekananda, during the program. Over 350 students from various schools from Udupi District have been registered and are participated in the program. The dignitaries of the day were taken in a procession, accompanied by the school band to the venue.Svachitha proposed the vote of thanks and inaugural programme was impeccably conducted by Meghana and Madhuri.
A poetry recital session presided over by Shravya Kolnadu, a student of 9th standard at Government High School, Bantwal moderated by Story writer Uday Gaonkar, Kunadapur.
Various Essays on different topics were presented by the student participants in the evening session moderated by Vishwanatha Karaba, Kannada Lecturer at Government College Kundapur.
A unique mix of art, music, yoga and dance “Kavya-Kuncha-Gayana-Yogasana-Nrithya” was presented in the evening by H.Chandra Shekhara Kedilya, All India Rasio performer, Brahamavara for music, Ramesh Bantakallu, Yoga Teacher at Government School Karkala for Yoga and art and Pradip K.Bhat , teacher at G.M.Vidyanikethan Institutions, Haradi, Brahamavar for art.
“Kavade Purana” a drama directed Rama Shetty, Teacher, Haradi and enacted by the students of Government High School, Kavadi was presented as the part of cultural program.
