The newly built Adoration Chapel at the premises of the church of St Peter, Barkur, is inaugurated recently . This chapel is sponsored by Herbert, Aloysius, Wilfred, Victor, Cyril, Denis, Lilly and Gloria of Pakshikere Parish, in memory of their parents late Lawrence and Alice DSouza, on the occasion of their centenary jubilee. At a cost of Rs12 lakhs, this chapel id designed and executed by Danny Pinto, a lecturer in MIT, and his wife Tina Pinto who have reputation of designing and constructing many religious buildings in the area.

Bishop Aloysius Paul DSouza of Mangalore Diocese was welcomed by the Parish Priest Rev Fr Alban DSouza along with Parish Council members. Chapel was inaugurated by the Bishop who brought the Holy Eucharist from the church and placed in the chapel.
