Barkur, November 2, 2022 - The faithful of St. Peter's Church, Barkur gathered in reverent remembrance of their departed loved ones during a special All Souls Day prayer service held at the parish cemetery this morning.
Following the morning Mass, Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda led parishioners in a meaningful ceremony honoring those who have passed away. The solemn service provided an opportunity for community members to pray for and remember their deceased family members who have departed for their heavenly reward.
The annual observance of All Souls Day, which falls on November 2nd in the Catholic liturgical calendar, is dedicated to praying for the faithful departed. The tradition holds special significance for the parish community as it brings families together in prayer and remembrance.
"This day helps us maintain our spiritual connection with our loved ones who are no longer with us physically," said Fr. Miranda during the service. "Through our prayers, we continue to express our love for them and our hope in the promise of eternal life."
The well-attended ceremony reflected the strong faith traditions of the Barkur Catholic community and their commitment to keeping the memory of their departed family members alive through prayer and reflection.
