In a grand ceremony filled with hope and anticipation, the Lions Club Barkur (District 317C, Zone I Region IV) welcomed its new leadership for the 2024-25 term. The installation ceremony took place on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 7:00 PM sharp in the Sindhura Auditorium of Brahmavara City Center.
The event marked a significant milestone for the club as it ushered in a fresh team of office-bearers poised to lead the organization's charitable endeavors in the coming year. Ln. Srinivas Shetty was inducted as the new President, with Ln. Uday S. Shetty taking on the role of Secretary, and Ln. Santosh Shetty assuming the position of Treasurer.
The installation ceremony was presided over by the esteemed Ln. Sunil Kumar Shetty, the past District Chief Coordinator GLT 2023-24, who officiated the oath-taking for the new team. The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ln. Prakash Shetty (Zone Chairman), Ln. Harish Belanje (Regional Chairman), and the immediate past President Ln. Praveen Kumar Shetty, along with outgoing Secretary Ln. Srinivasa Shetty and Treasurer U. Kotraswamy.
In a heartwarming gesture of inclusivity, the club welcomed Mr. Sadashiva Hegde as a new member, expanding its roster of dedicated individuals committed to community service.
The ceremony also highlighted the club's ongoing commitment to education and youth empowerment. Financial assistance was provided to Manish, a underprivileged student studying in the 5th standard at National Private Higher Primary School in Hanehalli, Barkur. Additionally, the club recognized academic excellence by presenting an encouragement award to Apeksha, a student from Barkur National Pre-University College, who scored exceptionally well in the recent 10th standard examinations.
Ln. Srinivas Shetty, in his inaugural address as the new President, emphasized the club's motto, "We Serve," and outlined his vision for the upcoming year. He expressed his commitment to expanding the club's community-oriented programs and enhancing its impact on local society.
