Maryknoll School Hosala Barkur re-opened after a break of almost eight long months.
The beginning of the New Year 2021 was welcomed in Barkur with many hopes, expectations and aspirations. It was more so in the Maryknoll Campus, as the Grade VI & VII students were in a jubilant mood to enter their class rooms. Earlier the teaching staff led by HM Rosy Sequeira and her deputy Mrs Joyce Vandan DSa, decorated the Classrooms to welcome the children.
They had made elaborate arrangements to sanitise, keep safe distance with each other, dividing each Class into two sections with not more than 15 students in each division.
The festive mood in the School Compound with the hectic activities of learning and playing was a sight of contentment to all teachers, parents and students.
A school with almost 80 years of rich legacy behind it, started in the year 1940, has been one of the best in Barkur with almost 150 students on the roll today. It’s heartening to notice the sacrifice, concern and care of the teachers serving here to challenge the threats of Covid 19 pandemic, adhering to the rules and regulations directed by the education Department and for parents to entrust the little children in their safe and secured hands.
