Renowned literary figure and author, and former English Lecturer of NJC, Barkur, Sri Ram Bhat Sajangadde from Padre Gram in Manjeshwar Taluk, Kasaragod district, Kerala, have been selected as the distinguished literary contributors for the 'Prof. M. Ramachandra Memorial Literature Award,' instituted by the Karkala Sahitya Sangha.
Currently residing in Barkur, Sri Ram Bhat has previously served as an English lecturer at Barkur National College and retired as the Head of the Department of English at Mother Teresa College in Shankarnarayana. Alongside his professional career, he has actively organized literary and cultural events with the intention of introducing literature and culture to young minds. Sri Ram Bhat's remarkable contribution includes successfully organizing 19 Children's literary conferences, inspiring numerous young talents, who are now making their mark in the field of literature.
As an accomplished author, Sri Ram Bhat has written six books, namely 'Nayars of Kerala,' 'Nadige Namaskara,' 'The Prominent Figures of Ajapura,' 'Milk Honey,' 'Economic History of India,' and 'Take Responsibility within Your Limits.' Recognizing his excellence as an organizer, writer, and translator, he was honored in the "Vidhyarthi Siri" conference organized by the Alvas Education Foundation and the "Makkala Sahitya Sangama" held in Kateel in recent times.
The "Prof. M. Ramachandra Memorial Literature Award" ceremony, organized under the patronage of Smt. Sharada Ramachandra and Children, will take place at the Prakash Hotel Auditorium in Karkala on July 20, 2023. The event will be presided over by retired Air Vice-Marshal Ramesh Karnik, and the esteemed Dr. K. Chinnappa Gowda, the former Vice-Chancellor of Haveri Folklore University, will present the award.
