Stranded Labourers helped at Barkur

About 274 Migrant Laborers stranded without jobs due to all India Lock down were temporarily accommodated at Smt. Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Government First Grade Collge by the Udupi District Administration. Devdas Hoskere who heard the plight of the Laborers from Brahmavar Police Station, acted immedietly and arranged water and biscuits to them with the help of Prasad Barkur, Shrinivasa Kedlaya of Shri Bhuvaneshwari General Store and Panduranga Pai Barkur of Kiradi General Store.

Later they were provided with meals by Udupi District Administration.  Few Surathkal based Laborers will be accomodated at Barkur and otherr will be shifted to Udupi and all of them will be sent to their respective villages with proper arrangements.  

Lighting arrangements for their stay at night is provided by Hanehalli Panchayath and Swasthik Sports Club. Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B.Shantharam Shetty has agreed to provide the food for them for the rest of the days.   

The quick actions and humanitarian concerns shown by Udupi Ditsrict Administration, Hanehalli Panchayath, PDO and  Members and Staff, Officers at Brahmavar Police Station, Swasthik Sports Club, Devdas Hoskere,  Prasad Barkur, Shrinivasa Kedlaya of Shri Bhuvaneshwari General Store and Panduranga Pai Barkur of Kiradi General Store,  were well appreciated.
