BARKUR, September 20, 2024 - The Barkur Agricultural Service Cooperative Society held its annual general meeting for the fiscal year 2023-24 today, marking another successful year of operations and community service.
The meeting commenced at 10:30 AM sharp in the Souharda Hall of St. Peter's Church, Barkur, with an opening prayer by Mr. Raghavendra Rao Maskibail. Society President Mr. B. Shantaram Shetty presided over the proceedings.
In a testament to the society's financial health, it was announced that the cooperative had achieved a profit of ₹49,43,109.70 for the 2023-24 fiscal year. Members were pleased to hear the declaration of a 15% dividend for the reporting year, reflecting the society's strong performance.
Highlighting its commitment to education, the society awarded scholarships to 22 students from its operational area, continuing its tradition of supporting local youth in their academic pursuits.
Mr. B. Shantaram Shetty, the society's president, welcomed the attendees, while Mr. Ganesh, the Chief Executive Officer, presented the annual report. Director Mr. B. Krishnamurthy Rao offered a vote of thanks at the conclusion of the meeting.
The event was well-attended, with all members of the administrative board present. Notably, Mr. Khadar, owner of Jubeda Cycle Works, who passed away earlier today, had also been in attendance at this meeting, marking one of his last public appearances.
