Countdown begins for first Semi Final of Wilfy Rebimbus Singing Competition

The Expressions in association with St Joseph’s church, Jeppu Mangaluru will hold Wilfy Rebimbus memorial Konkani singing competition on October 4 at the campus of Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi. This event is also the Udupi diocese level semi final of the Inter diocese (Mangaluru-Udupi) Wilfy Rebimbus memorial Konkani singing competition. The fifth edition of the competition this year has reached a new height by being extended to Udupi diocese.

 

The other Mangaluru diocese level semi final will be held in Mangaluru on October 25 and the grand finale will be held in Mangaluru on November 15 at Jeppu Church open grounds, Mangaluru.

The diocese level semi finals for the competitors of all parishes of Udupi will be held from 09.30 am to 5 pm at 3 different halls of church campus simultaneously with 3 sets of distinguished judges. Two selected semi finalists from each category will be qualified for the grand finale. Apart from this Fantastic Five from each category in Udupi diocese level are in for attractive prizes. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all the participants.

The stalwarts from Konkani Music World, Ivan Sequeira, Babitha D’Sa, Claud D’Souza, Jovi D’Souza, Ivy D’Souza, Maxim Pereira, Alwyn Noronha, Ashith Pinto and Fr Pius Carmelite have consented to be judges of the Udupi diocese level semi finals.

Msgr Baptist Mezezes, vicar general of Udupi diocese will inaugurate the competitions in the morning and Fr Nelson D Almeida, parish priest, St Joseph Church Jeppu will be the chief guest of the valedictory function in the evening.

Meena Rebimbus, Vishwas and Charlene Rebimbus have consented to grace the occasion.

This year The Expressions is spreading its wings further by joining hands with St Joseph’s church, Jeppu Mangaluru in organizing Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial, Inter diocese (Mangalore-Udupi) Konkani singing competition.
