Electrical Point Moves to New Premises on Kadri Road

"Due to the increasing response, we had to shift our showroom to a bigger location in order to provide better facilities to our clients," said Vinod Sequeira, Barkur, proprietor, Electrical Point, during the inaugural of the newly-built showroom at Bunts Hostel in the city on Saturday May 19.

The exclusive showroom for decorative lights and electrical accessories has shifted to the new location from Karangalpady  Cross Road to Electrical Point Complex, Kadri Road, Near Bunts Hostel, to its own independent building due to the rise in demand and lack of space in the previous showroom.

Roy Thomas, DGM, Havells India Ltd, inaugurated the exclusive showroom by cutting the ribbon. During the speech, he mentioned that hard work is the only formula behind such a massive showroom. He lauded the efforts of the team and wished all success in future endeavors.

Fr  Stany B Lobo, parish priest, our Lady of Miracles Church, Kallianpur, blessed the occasion.


M Venkatesh Pai, president, Architects Guild, Mangalore, and Vijaya V Mayya, chairman, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, Mangalore, also spoke.  Urban Pinto, president, Karnataka State Electrical Contractors’ Association, DK, shared the dais with other dignitaries.

Vinod Sequeira, proprietor, is the son of Mrs.Margaret Veronica Sequeira and Late Mr.Salvadore Sequeira near Moodukeri Barkur. An Electrical Engineer by profession, Vinod ventured into business few years back in Mangalore and thrived due to his hard work and professionalism. During this time he felt the growing demand for decorative lights and started Electrical Point in a small way on November 27, 2000, at Falnir, Mangalore, on a space of about 300 sq.ft. He provided decorative lights and fans according to the needs and tastes of his customers. As the years rolled by, his business flourished necessitating a bigger showroom.

On May 17, 2004, Vinod shifted his business to Essel Chambers, Karangalpady, with a showroom place of 700 sq.ft. As customers’ response grew he expanded his showroom to over 2,000 sq.ft in the same building and converted the entire showroom into an air-conditioned one and this was blessed on May 19, 2005.

Electrical Point has customers from Kasargod to Goa and from Shimoga, Chikmagalur and other districts. To facilitate to the customers need of northern parts of coastal Karnataka, Vinod started a state-of-the-art new showroom at Regal Entry building, near Karavali Circle, Udupi on October 26, 2009, consisting of about 4,000 sq.ft. and fully air- conditioned.

The new building comprising of three stories got a total area of about 20,000 sq.ft. Vinod welcomed and Pricilla Sequiera thanked the gathering. Vishwas compered the event.
