Barkur, 15/08/2024: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor at Maryknoll Higher Primary School, Hosala, Barkur. The event commenced with a warm welcome by the school headmistress, Mrs. Joyce Vandan Dsa. The National Flag was hoisted by PTA President, Mr. Rama Poojary, followed by a stirring speech on the significance of Independence Day by the school correspondent, Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda.
A special highlight of the event was the distribution of free ID cards to all students by alumnus Mr. Sunil, who generously provided them at no cost. The program was skillfully conducted by Mrs. Dimple, while Mrs. Shamala delivered the vote of thanks.
In addition, the school's alumni contributed sweets and snacks, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Dhanya, a 7th-grade student, also spoke a few words, reflecting on the importance of the day’s celebrations.
The event was a resounding success, fostering a sense of pride and patriotism among all attendees.
